#010 love your neighbor

matthew 22:39-40
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

This is part deux of last week's design, which was the first greatest commandment. This one is the second greatest :)

#009 love the lord your god

FINALLY! I feel so sorry to have neglected this project for weeks. My days have been terribly crazy because of school and I have to admit that apparently I'm now not used of being busy. I think it's getting better, though. I'm doing much better managing my schedule this week, so I should be back on track! :)

matthew 22:36-38
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

So, this is February and it's famous for being the month of love, because of the Valentine's day, of course. I read this verse a couple days ago and I just can't get it out of my mind. And then last night I stumbled across this beautiful flash animation from the famous Dong Haeng website. If you've never watched it, you really should. What a reminder from God!

#008 the plague of frog

Exodus 8:1-6
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. If you refuse to let them go, I will plague your whole country with frogs. The Nile will teem with frogs. They will come up into your palace and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and on your people, and into your ovens and kneading troughs.  The frogs will go up on you and your people and all your officials.’ ”  Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.’ ” So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land.

So, I am now done with Genesis on my One Year Bible reading, yay! It's quite a milestone for me, alright. :) I read Exodus 8 today, which is mostly tells us the story of the plagues that God brought to Egypt because Pharaoh wouldn't let the Israel people to leave Egypt.

Okay, this design might be really creepy for some people. I don't have any intention at all to scare you! I just think that this is a reminder that God can do anything to defend His people who believes in Him, to include flooding the city with frogs. If this is not creepy enough, I might do the plague of flies tomorrow :) *lol*

#007 five loaves and two fish

Matthew 14:17-21

“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.
“Bring them here to me,” He said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

"Jesus Feeds The Five Thousand" miracle is probably one of the most famous miracles that Jesus did. I remember learning about it ever since I was little. When I read this passage today, though, I learned something new about this marvelous story.

Jesus used whatever they currently have at that point, which were the five loaves and the two fish... something very, very ordinary. When he began to give thanks, then something extraordinary started to happen. I took it as a reminder that God can use whatever we have in our hands, even the most average, unattractive things, as long as we are being grateful and thankful. Often times, we look at what other people have, compare it to what we have, and then we started to feel envious. Going back to the miraculous story, I believe that when we start to be thankful of God's blessings, something extraordinary will happen. :)

#006 not the healthy

Err... apologize for skipping two days! No worries, I'm still here and I'm not giving up, haha. I haven't been feeling well for the last couple of days (and today as well :(), and not to mention, I've been really busy, too.

I've actually been thinking a lot about this project. It actually takes a good amount of time. So, I'm thinking of a way to cut down on time and do it more effectively. Ah, I know this is not even the end of January! Not that I'm giving up, but I'm trying to make this project more doable in the midst of my busy days, especially with the school coming up. I just don't want this to end up being a burden for me, while I intended it to be a daily creative outlet and just pure fun.

Anyway, we'll see. Here's today's wallpaper :)

Matthew 9:10-13
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and “sinners” came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
